My time Barrio 2 has come to an end

Dear Family and Friends

My time in Barrio 2 has come sadly come to an end. I am currently serving in Alcobendas! Which is really close to the mission home. My new companion is Hermana Shurtz. She just got done being trained and she is a really good friend of my last companion, Hermana Seegmiller. I also get the amazing opportunity to serve with... Hermana Grover!!! She is the sister that I began my mission with in Gijon and now we are able to end the mission together as well. We are pretty excited about that. Tonight we have a Noche de Hogar together. It will be really nice to be serving with more hermanas once again.

Anyways.. the last week in Barrio 2:
We´ve been working quite a lot with our recent converts and less actives who seem to be doing really well!

Alexia - We were able to see her once this past week. The family situation is a litte hard right now so she still isn´t able to come to church consistently but we went over there and I took her a bunch of clothes I was going to be leaving behind, and she LOVED them. She´s adorable.

Valentin - Valentin is doing amazing. This week he has started coming with both us and the elders to lessons. He gives the most beautiful testimony at the end and everyone says that they can just hear the spirit when he talks. He´s going to be an incredible missionary someday.

Bartolome - We had a lesson with Bartolome this week and I finally learned how to make spanish tortilla. So I´ll get to practicing on the so I can make it for you when I get home. He is doing really well and I think having Valentin there with him for a little bit is really going to help him in his progression.

Estefan - Estefan is a new investigator that we found this week. He plays a little flute outside of a supermarket and we have talke to him a few times. We had a little extra time so we decided to go talk to him and give him a book of mormon. He´s from Hungary and he´s had a pretty hard life. We had the first lesson with him this week and Valentin came with us. It was so cool because you could see a change in him from when we started the lesson and when we finished. I hope that he will start progressing.

Hans - We were finally able to have a lesson with Hans... a really extremely long lesson with Hans. haha He really likes to talk. But it was so amazing. He seems so prepared to receive the gospel. He loved the first lesson and already has faith in that Joseph Smith was a prophet. He is really excited to read the book of mormon as well.

Los Wilder - They are doing so awesome. Now Monica and Wilder are being such great missionaries to their son. They don´t push him but they always share their testimonies with him. Wilder also shared the gospel with one of his university friends and passed us her referance. Recent converts are so awesome.

Silvia and Teresa - We haven´t been able to meet with them for a while but we passed by yesterday to say goodbye and we were able to share a scripture with them. After we shared the scripture we all felt the spirit so strong. We read Alma 17:2-3 and I told them that I hoped that the next time I saw them they would be stronger in their testimonies and in the gospel.

Fiesta!!! - As you all know, I turned 21 this week. So on saturday at the Noche de Hogar we held a little party and we brought cake and I got sang to in Spanish and Romanian. My companion was also super awesome and made me breakfast and gave me this super cool spidermad mug. Thanks for the cards and gifts family! It was a really beautiful birthday!

That is all for this week but next week I´m sure I´ll have a lot to tell from my new area and new companion.

These past couple weeks have been amazing and truly full of miracles.

HOLA!!!

I´m am so happy to be writing this email. These past couple weeks have been amazing and truly full of miracles. I just thank God everyday for all the blessing that he is pouring out on us.

Valentin - VALENTIN IS BAPTIZED!!!! He got baptized on Saturday evening and confirmed on Sunday at church. It was such a beautiful service. Fernando, one of the members that has been helping us a lot with him, is the one that baptized and confirmed him. He also bore a testimony along with Iulia (the romanian lady from the ward that is like Valentin´s mom now). My companion and I got talks and then all the missionaries did a special musical number and sang "I believe in Christ." After the baptism Valentin got up and bore his testimony in Romanian and Claudia (Iulia´s daughter) translated for us. It was such a beautiful moment. His testimony is so pure. He talked about the Book of Mormon and how much that book means to him and ended by saying Thanks to God because before he was alone and now he has a really big family. This week we also taught him how to pray in Spanish! He then taught me how to pray in romanian so I said my first pray ever in romanian and he said is first prayer in spanish this week haha.

Los Wilder - Wilder got confirmed this week right along with Valentin. It has been so beautiful to see this family come together in the gospel. Last night we had a lesson with them and we played a Restoration Memory Card game - half the cards have words and the other half have the definitions, and all of them have something to do with the first lesson. Then you have to try to match the definitions to words. Aparently I´m really good at this game because I´ve won everytime haha. The Wilders really loved it and the son was there too so that was great!

Tyler - A really amazing miracle happened to me today! Yesterday we got this call from a random number and it happened to be my really good friend Tyler Harmon! Turns out he is in madrid this week and wanted to see me. So we were able to meet with him in Sol today and catch up a little bit. I gave him a book of mormon that I had written my testimony in and he promised me he would read it. I´m so grateful to God because I have prayed morning and night for Tyler everyday of my mission and I know this was an answer to my prayers.

Jenifer - Jenifer is a new investigator. She is the wife of a less active man that we met on the street. We were able to meet with her for a few minutes this week. She seems really adorable and really interested in learning more about the church. She says her husband, Alejandro, always tells her stories about when he was an active member.

There is much more to tell but very little time! Know that I love you all and GOD DOES ANSWER PRAYERS.

Os Quiero,

God is really pushing me to grow my faith

10/13/14

Buenos Días:)
What a week! God is really pushing me to grow my faith and trust in Him, as well as gain a stronger testimony of the gospel. It seems like we are just having Trial to Miracle after Trial to Miracle. It´s been amazing to see how God tests and tries our faith so that it can grow stronger, and how if we pressforward in Him, He blesses us with so many miracles.

Wilder - Wilder Padre se bautizó!!!! His bautismal service was held last night in the chapel. It was so special for many reasons. First because they have waited for so long for him to be able to get baptised. At least a year if not more. So this baptism really meant a lot for their family. Second because the sister missionary that found them on the street is now in this ward and she was able to be there for the baptism. She gave a talk and later she came up to me and said "Hard work really does pay off." After the baptism Wilder and Monica also came up to me and Wilder was saying that as he bore his testimony after the baptism he just felt the spirit so strong, like he´d never felt it like that before in his life. It was so special and they are so excited to continue on.

Valentin - He´s doing so awesome. This week he had his baptismal interview and he passed:) He also had an interview with the bishop of the ward so that he could get to know him better and that went really well. The members are so involved with him and it is a really amazing thing to see. They are all very excited for his baptism and really helping him out in so many ways. He is now hopefully going to be staying with Bartolomé, our recent convert, and some other members of the ward are helping us get some of his paperwork done so that he can start looking for a job. He´s so prepared for baptism and his testimony is so strong. We talked to him this week about his earring. His earring was his mom´s who died when he was fourteen. He´s worn it for 7 years and his sister has the other one. When we told him about the counsel of the prophet to not where them he just replied "No pasa nada." He then told me that before his baptism he was going to take it out and give it to me! He said that when return (hopefully when he goes through the temple/on a mission) I can bring it back. That just made me really happy. With him we have passed through so many trials, and yet so many miracles. All of the experiences we´ve had with him have really changed me. So keep praying for Him and for all of these situations so that they can be worked out. I know God will answer us:)

These are the highlights from this week. We´re working with quite a few other people and they keep us pretty busy. We´re also trying to work more with the ward and the bishop is helping us a lot in that. We´re now going to be praying a lot to figure out who to really focus on. Kent right now is praying and fasting to know when he should be baptised, and Mirta is doing the same so that she can be able to come to church. Our sunday mornings are crazy now because we have to go pick up Alexia (recent convert), Ainhoa (her little sister) and Naomi (investigar) because none of there parents can come, but it´s fun.

Thank you all for everything and please keep praying!

con cariño,
